On 27 March 1953, Pilot George Hale clamined two MiG 15's in the skies over North Korea. Flying Meteor A77-851, "Halestorm Hale" was credited with one damaged and one probably destroyed. This was the last air to air combat the RAAF has been engaged in to date.
