Cabooses fell out of favor with the advancement of End-Of-Train Devices. In the early 2000's, "Shoving Platforms" began to appear to safely house a crew when a reverse move was required. The crew member(s) had a safe place to stand, instead of riding on the side of a freight car, while guiding the rear of a reverse move. The Atlas "shoving Platform" Caboose will feature blanked out windows, where appropriate.
